WHAT IS IYENGAR YOGA?
Iyengar yoga is a method of Hatha Yoga based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar of Pune, India.  It is systematic and precise.  Iyengar yoga is for everyone and often employs the use of simple props such as blankets, belts, blocks and bolsters to make poses accessible and safe for all, and respects everyone’s individual shape, size and capabilities in the process.  Iyengar yoga teachers can keep you safe in class whether you have an old injury, weak joint(s), are inflexible, etc. With continued practice, Iyengar yoga can improve your strength, flexibility, alignment and concentration.


ABOUT YOUR TEACHER…

Kari Romaniuk
Kari first discovered yoga in 2000 while on a working holiday in Australia.  At the end of that class, the instructor mentioned that if the students liked what they had done, they should go home and find an Iyengar Yoga teacher.  She felt like she had really “come home” when she found the Yoga Centre Toronto, and has been practicing Iyengar Yoga there ever since.  Currently enrolled in their 3-year teacher training program, she is excited to share with others the stability, strength and vitality she gets from her yoga practice.
