As a healing/helping professional, whether your work is one-on-one, group-oriented or organizational, or if your work exposes you frequently to the pain and suffering of others, taking time out for self-care is neither luxurious nor self-indulgent: it is self-preservation. To have abundant—or at least adequate—resources for yourself, your loved ones, and your work, and to be able to continue giving contentedly instead of through chronic depletion, it is necessary to make time to restore and replenish yourself.

At this half-day retreat, enjoy several hours of deeply restorative practices, inspired by the yoga and mindfulness meditation traditions, with simple, gentle techniques you can put to use in daily life right away, including a complementary CD with guided relaxations. The workshop concludes with a light and nutritious lunch shared in silence before you move on with the rest of your day. No experience with yoga or meditation is necessary.

Make it a “designated self-care day
If you have late afternoon or evening work, this retreat is gentle and relaxing enough to be included in your day, and if you are able to have the day off, consider making it a designated self-care day by attending the retreat and planning activities for your afternoon and evening to create an entirely self-care-oriented day.
